Beyond its design excellence, Design House Australia carries a deeper purpose — to champion the preservation and adaptive reuse of Australia’s most treasured architectural landmarks. Co-founders Justin Bishop and Lucinda Kimpton are both passionate advocates for heritage conservation, believing that the stories and craftsmanship embedded within our grand hospitality venues and historic homes deserve to be not only protected, but re-imagined for contemporary life.

Each Design House Australia event seeks to bridge past and present, showcasing how thoughtful design can breathe new life into heritage spaces without compromising their original spirit. In keeping with this philosophy, part or all of the interiors created for each showhouse will remain in place long after the event concludes — allowing the host property, whether a hotel or private estate, to continue using these newly re-envisioned rooms for commercial or public purposes.
